INDEPENDENT DEALERS RAISE OVER £30,000 FOR CHARITY AT DATA SELECT “GET MINTED” FINALE

Data Select gave generously to both charity and customers at its “Get Minted” dealer promotion finale event last week [14 July, 2005]. In total, £32,400 was donated by the company to the Forgotten Children charity.

Three luxurious trips were awarded to customers on the night and DM Telecom owner Dino Maroudias was ecstatic at scooping the first prize - a VIP trip to Las Vegas with $5000 spending money. Customers were challenged to make as much money during a lavish casino evening, with the top ten high rollers eventually fighting it out by rolling dice in a tense game of craps.

“I couldn’t believe my luck! Attending the event was enough but to win couldn’t have come at a better time, I’m getting married to my co-company owner this month and the prize will be used as our honeymoon. Data Select is our number one distributor and the account management is second to none,” said Dino.

Second and third prizes – all casino themed trips with all expenses paid and spending money – to Monte Carlo and London were also awarded to runners-up Dunmorris and Fones ‘n’ Things.

George McPherson, Managing Director of Data Select’s parent company Phones International Group said: “The event was a great success, every customer, from one shop independents to larger chains, had equal chances of winning. The “Get Minted” theme was all about living the high life, and the event certainly lived up to that. A big thank you to all those customers and business partners who came along on the night, and supported us throughout the promotion.”

The casino-themed “Get Minted” promotion ran from February to May this year and customers, predominantly independent dealers, qualified for their place at the event based on achieving pre-determined targets. In turn, customers were treated to a lavish night in London, where they were each given the same value of “Data Select Dollars” to try their luck in the casino. The finale was a knock out of ten people rolling the dice for the highest throw, and the winners took all.
