Forgotten Children Background
Forgotten Children is the public face and brand of The Peter Jones Foundation,
which is registered as a charity in England and Wales (Registration number:
1110288).
The motivation behind the Forgotten Children charity is a desire to help
youngsters who, for whatever reason, fall outside of the vast network
of support and aid offered by other charities and organisations in the
UK.
Our
objective is simple: to identify Forgotten Children and use the money
we raise to help in whatever way we can. This may be by providing direct
financial assistance to the child's carer, or it may be by providing an
existing charity or support organisation with the funds or a grant that
will provide or contribute to the right kind of help. The charity's focus
is Children in the UK.
In 2005/6, the first year of 'Forgotten Children', our objectives are:
- To raise £250,000 to support the work of the charity
- To identify and provide support to 10 separate projects within the
UK in accordance with the charity’s objectives
- To extend and develop 'Forgotten Children's' network of volunteers
and fundraisers
- To communicate and update on all aspects of the charity's work through
regular communications to supporters and via the web site (currently
being developed)
